Quodia is a new multimedia performance group featuring renowned artists Trey Gunn (King Crimson) and Joe Mendelson (Rise Robots Rise). Quodia uses multi-media tools to tell stories. The basic elements of the performance are spoken word, projected text, moving imagery, sound design, and music. Using video projection and live instruments (including a 10 string touch guitar, keyboards, and electronic percussion), Quodia creates an experience that is part movie, part theatre, and part concert.
Quodia is currently touring The Arrow. Divided into seven chapters, The Arrow weaves an intricate tale with myth-like characters who seem to exist outside of time: A boy who finds a gold hand, a woman who consumes water to her own undoing, a dark presence that build sculptures in the forest, six plotting birds...
Quodia has performed The Arrow throughout the world, with appearances in Norway, Russia, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and the U.S. including the Gates Planetarium in Denver, CO, and Seattle's Cornish College of the Arts.
